College Director & Head Teacher
Born in Croydon in 1958,
I began studying T'ai Chi Ch'uan in 1984 with
Dr. John Kells of the British T'ai Chi Ch'uan Association.
I have practised continuously ever since
and began teaching professionally in
1989. I have taught at, trained and provided teachers
for Surrey, Kingston and
Croydon Adult Education courses,
YMCA's and leisure centres, corporate clients
and various other organisations.
Whilst studying Acupuncture
at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine
in Reading in 1994 I met
Dr. Shen Hongxun, founder of the Buqi Institute,
an organisation dedicated to bringing eastern knowledge to the west.
Born in Shanghai in 1939, Dr. Shen began his Taiji study aged 9,
and was,
in my opinion, the epitome of authentic Taijiquan.
I subsequently left Acupuncture college
to study his teachings in Taijiquan, Taijiwuxigong,
Wuxi Meditation and Buqi, an energetic healing system
of which I am now a qualified practitioner.
As a result of my continuing interest and development
we formed the Heaven Mountain Taijiquan College UK in 1996
and I now continue to
study, develop and teach Taiji, TaijiWuxiGong,
Wuxi Meditation and Buqi Healing.
I am currently enjoying my 28th year of practising Taiji.
Classes run continuously throughout the year
and there is a substantial programme
of weekend workshops and residential seminars,
both in this country and abroad,
in association with the Buqi Institute.
